Nowruz 2016 (1395)

Please mark your calendars for IGSF’s Nowruz event which will be on Friday, March 11th.

Our event features an evening full of fun activities, authentic Persian food, live performances and dance incorporating Persian, Afghan and Tajiki cultures.

A variety of delicious Persian foods including Nowruz traditional Sabzi polo-Mahi along with traditional sweets will be served to complement the festivity.

While at the event, make sure you take fun pictures using our photo-booth and life size custom cut out stands.

To top it all, we invite you to dance to “Exclusively Entertainment” DJ Payam’s tunes as we bring our Nowruz celebration to an end!

Due to university policy, at least 50% of our guests must consist of UMD graduate students. We have two ticket options available: 1) UMD graduate students; and 2) Other guests. Only a few of the tickets in the second category (“Other guests”) is left right now. In case this option sells out, interested individuals can send an email to igsfgroup [at] gmail.com so that we can add them to our waitlist. We will process the waitlist on Wednesday Dec 9th.

The Iranian Graduate Student Foundation (IGSF) invites you to join us for a fun night of playing games with your friends. We will play different kinds of games from old-fashioned card games to simple luck-based board games. We do encourage you to bring your own games to share and have even more fun! The great thing about games is that they’re always better with more people so spread the word to your friends. Pizza, snacks and drinks will be provided.

With the arrival of spring, we could not wait to reschedule our Nowuz event, and After much anticipation, it’s finally here! Please join us on March 27th, 2015 at Nyumburu Cultural Center, University of Maryland, for a night of celebration and be our guests as we come together for Nowuz! Once again, We appreciate your support and consideration, and apologize for any inconveniences the reprogramming of our event has caused you.
