The Rhythm & Daf Training Circle
Every Monday evening, we hold “The Rhythm & Daf Training Circle”, where free tutorial sessions are offered by Mr. Miead Nikfarjam, a Daf master who is also a graduate student at UMD. Daf, a traditional Persian and Arabic frame drum, has been part of traditional music in Iran since much before Sufism. No experience or instrument is required, and beginners are more than welcome! At the end of each session we play few musical pieces, either epic, spiritual, or rhythmic happy ones from YouTube and perform their rhythmic parts by Daf all together.
