IGSF Talk

We initiated IGSF talk from 2018 with the idea of creating a medium for sharing our ideas, concerns, knowledge, and experiences with each other in a friendly atmosphere. Each talk has a core topic chosen and elaborated on by our speaker, presented in a fun and interactive way.
So far, our awesome speakers have covered a diverse range of topics, from job hunting strategies to life stories. By joining us in these talks, you not only will enjoy the friendly and informative talk, but also have the chance to network with our distinguished audience. Also, don’t hesitate to contact us if you happen to know someone who might be interested in giving a talk, including yourself!

Hikes

IGSF Hiking organizes bi-weekly hikes in the DMV area. Beyond a recreational activity, our hikes are an opportunity for participants to expand their community and connect with other interested hikers from a wide range of backgrounds. We have a special foliage hike in November, usually in Shenandoah national park.

Docunight

On the first week of every month, IGSF screens a documentary about Iran or made by Iranians. These entertaining and extraordinary films shed light upon diversity and complexity of Iranian society today. IGSF Docunight is a collaboration with Kiarostami Foundation and the Roshan Institute for Persian Studies at UMD. Docunight events are open to everyone and all films have English subtitles.
